The Rangers didn’t just lose a hockey game to their cross-river rivals last night. They lost one of their most valuable middle-six players and penalty killers in Jesper Fast.

A two to three week diagnosis shouldn’t be long enough to dramatically worsen their chances but given his value to the Blueshirts’ penalty kill (top ranked in the league since October 21st), this won’t be painless, either.
The news did appear to immediately throw the Rangers’ forward lineup out of whack, however:

Defense appears to be same.

With Boo Nieves a healthy scratch, it’s unknown if the Rangers intend to call up an additional forward from the Hartford Wolf Pack.
